What to Ask a Provider
Good questions save money. Bring this list:
- Are you licensed and insured for this type of work in Florida?
- Who pulls the permits?
- What is included in the quote, and what is not?
- How do you handle hidden damage found behind walls or under floors?
- What is the expected schedule, and what could change it?
- How do you protect the rest of the home during work?
- What is the payment schedule?
For bathrooms, ask about waterproofing and ventilation. In a humid climate, both matter. For kitchens, ask about lead times on cabinets and counters.
DIY or Pro
Some tasks are fine for a homeowner. Clearing the room, removing cabinet contents, taking photos and choosing finishes all help.
Leave the rest to a pro. That includes plumbing changes, electrical work, shower pans, waterproofing and structural changes. These need tools, training and often permits. A mistake can hide inside a wall for years.
